PRESENT TENSE

Action done in present is called present tense.

A tense expressing an action that is currently going on or habitually performed, or a state that currently or generally exists.

 

Simple indefinite tense --  The simple present is a verb tense with two main uses. We use the simple present tense when an action is happening right now, or when it happens regulary .

GENERAL FORFM

[ sub+is/am/are/verb/s/es/ies]

NEGATIVE RULE

PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

The present continuous verb tense indicates that an action or condition is happening now, frequently, and may continue into the future.

·      You are shopping in that market.

 

PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

The present perfect tense refers to an action or state that either occurred at an indefinite time in the past (e.g., we have talked before) or began in the past and continued to the present time.

·      Has forgotten: She has forgotten her folder.

PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

The present perfect continuous tense (also known as the present perfect progressive tense) shows that something started in the past and is continuing at the present time. The present perfect continuous

SENTENCES OF PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS

 

·       He has been studying in the library for three hours.

·      We have been shopping at this fair for two hours.

·      We have been watching a movie in this Cineplex for two hours.

·      You have been shopping in that market for three hours.

·      I have been singing different kinds of songs, especially modern.

·      I have been listening to melodious songs for an hour.

·      He has been traveling around the world for a month.

·      They have been playing cricket in that field for five hours.

·      The poet has been writing romantic poems for several hours.

·      The lyricist has been writing realistic songs since the beginning of his career.
